ETE (Sewage Treatment Plant) are units of the factory sewage system, which through mechanical, physical, chemical or biological processes remove possibly polluting loads from the fluid, treating the liquid and returning a treated final product to the environment, following environmental requirements. One of the systems within this process is the known “filter press”. The filter press is a mechanical machine that is coupled to a bomba where the liquid fluid is repressed. The removal of suspended solids occurs through the filtration process that retains the solid in the plates, generally made of fabric, while the fluid passes through the plate sequence.
In this application, the factory, a textile industry, had a Helicoidal pump in the filter press. One of the main problems was the constant maintenance required for continued operation, in addition to the impossibility of working dry, strict pressure control, among others.
The presented double diaphragm pneumatic pump solved these problems efficiently. There are no risks regarding fluid pressure, nor with the impossibility of working dry. AODD pumps can run dry and do not require pressure control.
Equipment maintenance costs were reduced by 80% compared to the old system.
