How to resolve when your pump does not turn on or stops the cycle?

First listen to your pump. If there is no air exhaust or continuous exhaust without cycling, you may have a real problem. In that case, you can take the following steps:

01. Make sure the air supply pressure exceeds the system head. If not, increase the inlet air pressure to the pump. Most pneumatic diaphragm pumps are designed for a 1:1 pressure ratio with minimum flow.

02. Check pump air distribution system. To correct, refer to the air valve section of your air diaphragm pump manual. Disassemble and check main air distribution valve and pilot valve. Also check for damaged or missing pilot valve actuators. It is also necessary to check the air valve and intermediate gaskets for proper alignment.

03. Check for fluid in the air exhaust muffler. If so, disassemble the pump chambers and check if the diaphragm has ruptured.

04. Check the air exhaust muffler. If any abnormality is identified, remove the muffler screen for cleaning or to defrost. Reinstall when finished.

05. Make sure there is no blockage in the pumping chamber. If this is the problem, disassemble and inspect your pump chambers. Remove any residue that might be getting in the way.

06. Check discharge line for blockage. Check pump valves, manifold or closed discharge line valve for obstruction.
