Proximity switches, or sensors, can be mounted on the cylinders and are used to detect the position of the piston. Indicated by the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet of the piston, the circuit sending an electrical signal usable for the direct control of solenoid valves, relays, etc. or electronic systems for communicating with machine control.
